2.     Archos 7 Home Tablet

This is the second tablet in line with better performance in spite of it being released in June last year. It is smaller than the iPad with a TFT LCD screen size of 7 inches and a resolution of 800 x 480. It comes armed with the 600MHz, Arm 9 Rockchip RK2808 processor and runs the Android 1.5 OS. It uses a single touch resistive technology. The model goes for $200.

For the people looking for a smaller tablet, the Archos 5 is the best alternative. It has a 5 inch screen and runs on Texas instruments OMAP 3430 processor of 800MHz. Archos 5 is more expensive resting at $250.

3.     ASUS Eee-Pad Transformer, ASUS Eee-Pad Slider

The lovers of ASUS Netbooks will find this to be a perfect option. The price is the same as that of the iPad. It has a 10.1 inch screen which has a 1280 x 800 resolution. Nvidia Tegra is the powering processor which runs the Android 3.0. There is a slide QWERTY keyboard on the ASUS  Eee-Pad slider and a 5MP LED flash camera on the rear and 1.2MP camera on the front. They are unbeatably the perfect competitors of the iPad.

4.     Dell Streak

The release of the 7 and 10 inch versions are scheduled for later in the year. The Dell Streak uses Snapdragon processor. The 7 and 10 versions are deemed to employ the dual core processor that will make them significantly faster. As usually, the front is made of Gorilla Glass. The tablet has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and supports 10.1 Flash.

The price of this tablet is still at large. It is a perfect alternative for the iPad. Toshiba Android 3.0 is powered by Tegra 2 processor and has a screen resolution of 1280 x 800. 9.     Toshiba Folio

This is a tablet deemed to keeping Apple busy all year long. It has a 10.1 inch multi-touch capacity screen with a resolution of 1024 x 600. Internal storage is 16GB and is powered by Nvida Tegra 2 processor that lies at 1 GHz. The tablet runs on the Android 2.2 OS.
